UV Safety Month

July is UV Safety Awareness Month:

Protect Your Skin, Protect Your Health

Spending time outdoors I great for your wellbeing, but it is important to protect your skin and eye from harmful UV rays. UV exposure can increase the risk of sunburn, premature skin aging, and skin cancer, so small daily habits can make a big difference.

This month, Well@Genesco encourages employees to practice safety while enjoying time outside.

UV Safety Tips:

Use sunscreen daily: Choose a broad-spectrum, water resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, and reapply every two hours or after swimming and sweating.

Seek shade when possible: Take breaks in shaded areas, especially when the sun is strongest.

Wear protective clothing: Long sleeves lightweight layers, UPF clothing, and wide-brimmed hats can help protect your skin from UV rays.

Protect your eyes: Wear sunglasses labeled UV400 or 100% UV protection to help protect your eyes from UVA and UVB rays.
